Define a new kind of Leadership. Have an agreed upon definition of leadership on my team. Shift from individuals working on a team to team members working with a collective mindset and purpose
Learn how I currently impact my team. I want to develop my team to be the best they can be. How does my thinking, communication and behaviour as a leader impact their performance?
Deliver feedback so my team is inspired. I want to inspire my team, recognize their enthusiasm and measure their new behaviours.
Listen and respond differently. Stop long enough to really listen to what my team is saying. I may need to get out of the way and even say “I don’t know”.
Understand and leverage chaos. Chaos needs to work for us rather than impede our progress. How can we have this work for us?
Say NO. The word ‘no’ has many interpretations. I want to understand what my team hears when I say ‘no’ so that we can move beyond this potential barrier.
Be authentic. Be more authentic in my communication with my team. This helps them grow their ability to communicate authentically. Conflict falls away.
Influence. Influence positively those above us so we can improve buy in and work more collaboratively. Keep other leaders in touch with how our team is growing.
Lighten up. I want my team to work at their maximum potential. We want to work with our creative gifts and to know, express and share them.
Break down hierarchical barriers. Open lines of collaboration.
